Cyril the squirrel.

I was watching Cyril running round the garden, having a bit of a dig, then moving on, having another dig until the penny dropped.....I had forgotten to fill up his feeder with hazel nuts and he was trying to remember where he had buried his nut reserves,  in times of plenty. 
Eventually he found one and shot up the nearest tree to eat it.
