After a day of sitting inside I decided I needed to get out of the house. I grabbed my camera, chucked some juice and a little towel in my bag and head off down the canal to the Water of Leith. Before long I was deep in the tranquility of the Dells. I love to wander through the woods, look at all the flowers (ramsens, bluebells, daisies, buttercups and many more), listen to the birds and the river and feel a thousand miles away from the city.
The Hawthorn was flowering in abundance, everywhere seemed to just be a blanket of white flowers. I meandered in the sunshine, passind dog walkers, kids and others like myself, just out for a stroll. All my favourite spots for sitting with my feet in the river were taken but on an alternate route back I found one of the old mill runs. 5 minutes with my feet in the deep fast flowing water and I felt restored. I love that warm cosy feeling your feet get for ages after you've had them in cold water!
