Last day in UK before we head off to Nice for our cruise, so we decided to get our "fix" of birding as it will be a while until we get chance to see some again I expect.
Not that I am complaining......we are going to visit some wonderful places - Barcelona, Gibraltar, Seville, Lisbon, Honfleur and St Peter Port on Guernsey.
We headed out to Pennington Flash mid morning and despite a lack of birds at the bunting hide, we did see a kingfisher, Canada Geese with 4 goslings, 3 lapwing chicks, some mallard ducklings, two pairs of swans with cygnets and a pied wagtail catching flies to feed it's young. So quite successful as far as babies were concerned.
After an OK pub lunch, we went to Risley on the way home and managed to spot a pair of woodpeckers, one hanging on for dear life on the peanut feeder, the lovely Jay and what we think was a hobby being attacked by a huge crow!
Hope you all had a lovely Saturday too!
