Whitby Abbey

Today we walked up the famous Whitby 199 steps (I counted them all!) first to see St Mary's Church then beyond it to the ruins of Whitby Abbey. What an atmospheric place! It's no surprise, looking at the abbey and the churchyard, that Bram Stoker set part of his 'Dracula' novel in Whitby.
