Skateraw.
I showed a blip yesterday of the pharmacy I was doing a locum in. This is a copy of a photo' taken 1920's - 30's of the same building. I'm led to believe it was originally a tailoring shop, then a baker shop, now a pharmacy. From yesterdays photo' you can see the name of the road is Skateraw Road, and the fence on the left is the edge of the railway line.
Newtonhill was originally called Skateraw village and the houses on the other side of the railway line of which there were only three was called Newtonhill.
For some of yesterdays commentators, no, I did not work in this original building, it's just a little bit before my time :-/ <g>
