Fledged!

After watching the RSH chicks' shenanigans yesterday morning, I had a premonition this morning that I should take my camera to the Dog Park. Sure enough, a friend told me that the chicks had been seen on trees other than their own yesterday afternoon. And there they were above me flying, ok...a bit awkwardly...but flying from one tree to another! What a thrill to see them taking their next step toward adulthood. I called my photographer friend who had decided to 'take the morning off' to give him the good news. He told me that he felt so very honored to have been able to be an observer to this miracle of life. I totally agree! The chicks will continue to be fed by their parents, of course, and will follow them around for maybe a month or so, learning all they can about...well...about you know...Hawk Things. I hope that you have enjoyed this journey as much as I have enjoyed bringing it to you. :)
