R.I.P.

Back on the ferry again this morning, a short trip this time to Sherkin Island, where all was pretty serene, bees were buzzing, cows were chewing, some lovely wooden boats were sailing into Baltimore for the aptly named Baltimore Wooden Boat Festival this weekend.
Then back in Skibbereen it was a different story, the national An Post cycle race was whizzing through town at lunchtime, coinciding with a traveller funeral. The (empty) hearse had to move sharply to avoid the advance race cars and a group I had at first taken for a wandering hen party, because of their matching t-shirts, turned out to be part of the funeral group. The horse drawn cortege later had helium balloons attached, judging from her mourners Grandma may have been a feisty lady. A few more here .
