Mount Grace Priory

Thursday 26th May 2016 (1370)

Travelled across the Pennines this morning to have lunch with Mum, my brother and sister-in-law. Then we set off for our Christmas 2015 treat, their Christmas present to us.

We stopped at Mount Grace Priory and had a little look round. Can't believe we've never been before. The priory ruins are great and one of the monks cells had been restored, quite a nice little place they had, their own little house. I loved this cross of Mary holding the baby Jesus, depicting the nativity, crucifixion and ascension all in one. I took lots of photos from different angles and will be able to use them for a meditation.

We then continued on to our rather nice hotel at Guisborough Hall, for two nights. A time of relaxation, now we're about to go down for dinner. I'm sure we will have our usual game of cards after dinner.
