Crossing the Arctic Circle

We have unwittingly crossed the Arctic Circle in a plane on previous occasions, but it seems much more significant when you do it on a ship!  We knew it was due to happen at 9.15 this morning so that meant an early start to get breakfast first!  Got to get the priorities right!  The location of the Arctic Circle is indicated by a globe on this little island on the coastal voyage along the Norwegian Coast.  We are southbound so are expecting excellent weather from now on.  Today has been a very good start as we have been able to sit out on deck soaking up the rays today in-between getting off the ship to wander round a couple of little towns.  

Crossing the Arctic Circle was celebrated by a dose of some fairly unpleasant oily stuff (free) and a glass of champagne (not free).  We have seen some absolutely splendid scenery today.


A very relaxing day.  I feel sorry for the little group of crew painting the railings of the ship...
