A brand new smile

It might not mean anything to anyone else, but this new smile belonging to Miss 9 means the world to her. The much anticipated dentist appointment finally happened today. You would have thought it was Christmas with how excited she was to have the numbing gel, gas and injections so the coating could be put on.

Since her adult teeth have come through Caitlin has put up with a lot of pain, sensitivity, and far too many rude comments from others regarding her teeth with enamel hypoplasia. In layman's terms, there was a large area of those teeth that had no enamel develop, leaving exposed the brown inside of her teeth. This most likely occurred as a result of being unwell as a baby when the adult teeth are formed in the gums, or maybe the trauma she had to her baby teeth after flying head first off her rocking horse.

Either way, she has a temporary fix to make her feel more confident and comfortable until permanent veneers can be made once she is a teenager /young adult. And she handled it like the pro she is.
