Another little thing we get to do in Malawi is to support the hospitals and Mzuzu Health Centre with items from Ireland.
We bring out some clothes and blankets for new born babies, something they always needs.
This time we brought cream for the burns unit, something they haven't seen for three years. Julie brought surgical equipment for the eye unit. We also brought antibiotics and painkillers.
We have a special relationship with the Health Centre in that we provide transport one Friday each month for their under fives outreach clinics in Lusangazi where we support a little health facility.
The last year has been particularly bad, since the former President threw out the British High Commissioner and the British Government withheld funding which included their enormous support for Hospitals and Medicines.
The new President Joyce Banda has built alot of bridges, and relationships are now much better.
