Smokey 1752 hr (Tuesday 24th May 2016)

It was a day for doodlng at home, catching up after being out and about the previous day, and working through the pictures I'd taken at the zoo.

As well as being my birthday the day before, it was also Smokey's, so I had to give him some quality attention. Here he's in the porch in one of several cat baskets he has the use of.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Dusty Springfield - Doodlin' (recorded 7 July 1965)
This was included on the album Ev'rything's Coming Up Dusty, recorded with Ivor Raymond's orchestra in London and produced by Johnny Franz, but was new to me when I played the album. I knew the song by Ray Charles but the original was by Horace Silver and the Jazz Messengers in 1957. The lyric was added by Jon Hendricks for Annie Ross to sing in the 1959 version by Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.
