Here we go again

This kind of deterrent has been put up along many of our local roads, in an attempt to stop Appleby Fair goers from parking caravans, vehicles, horses and setting up camp, lighting fires etc., as they wait until they are allowed into Appleby . . . in a week's time. In the section at the entrance to the A66, where, for some reason, no stakes have been placed, there arrived just hours ago at least eight big caravans. This road will soon be impassable, jammed with vehicles, horses and people - as it was last year.
