Cities of Hope....
An artistic organisation called Cities of Hope have organised a huge art event in the city. Well thought of street artists, well crews of them really, have come to Manchester to create art works on some of the walls in and around the Northern Quarter.
It started last weekend and will finish this coming Sunday. It's been interesting to see the artists at work with their aerosol cans of paint and cherry pickers high above the streets. You need a head for heights to be involved in this branch of art. Each of the pieces says something about social issues that affect certain groups.
I read that there is a Syrian artist involved and it will be interesting to see what they have to contribute. Sobering I imagine. There are nine sites to visit. I think I've found six so far. And when it's all over we will still have these art works to enjoy as long as the Manchester weather will allow us.
