Capturing my Journey

Run!!!!!

Pip and Bud racing past on the beach this morning. I love the sand flying behind them, shame I took it into the sun. Up early to load the sheep and bullock into the trailer for the abattoir then a leisurely stroll on the empty beach with the dogs, well we strolled and the dogs raced around!!

Husband has been busy building a purpose built raised shearing race with special returning door for crogging ewes. (getting hold of and putting into sitting position). The way he has done it means less effort for him and myself at shearing time. It has taken quite a bit of working out, it may need some mods when we try it for the first time. I also have been redesigning the handling system a little to make it work better and to give us more space for sheep.

On the pick up during the winter we have a board over the mesh of the ifor Williams top on it to stop it getting so wet inside and to keep the dogs warmer and drier.  Usually we just take the whole board off in the summer but have found on wet windy days the dogs and straw get wet. So we have decided to cut a large square whole in the board which we will cover with clear Perspex in the winter. This means there will be more airflow on warm days but still shade and less rain etc getting in on wet days. It also got a nice coat of silver paint so it matches the back.

I also went down the road for usual order of months worth of dog and poultry food.

13c 14mph W sunshine all day.
