Quicker to walk

The cupboards were bare so a quick trip to the supermarket was needed .
I pulled out of the end of my road and hit a traffic jam , as it turned out it ran nearly all the way to the supermarket on the outskirts of our small market town. There were roadworks ,or rather the dreaded cones, and three way traffic lights at a roundabout, there was no one working that I could see!

The couple walking into shot in my wing mirror set off at the same time as I did, walking along the footpath beside the road. They weren't in a hurry, just wandering along. As I sat waiting for the traffic light to change they overtook me, then as it changed I overtook them, this happened several times.

Guess who got to the supermarket first - they did!!!!
