We wuz lost - again.

The plan was to dash up to Gardenwise @ Dumfries for a bite to eat, thence to Caerlaverock.
Fred-Fred was doing his job quite well considering we'd ignored him all the way up, and past left turn after left turn he demanded we take, intending to use him only from Gardenwise to Caerlaverock.

En route I/we spotted a sign telling us to "Gah that way", FredFred, on the other hand said "NAY, gah doon yonder". (Have you EVER tried to get Cumberland dialect past the Spill Chucker - no mean feat.)

Since we'd past so many other turns I thought "What odds? We'll like as not end up where we want to be -. -. we didn't.

We did find a Carp Ark and a sign saying something like ...
"Hide 1/2 mile >>>------>"
I am proud and delighted to say we made the entire mile and lived to tell the tale. Though we are wondering if Scots' miles are the same length as Ours.
I suppose, technically, we weren't really lost,
the hide gave out Lat & Long at its centre, I wonder, since it was in the midst of an outward facing Pentagon of season a Pentagonal building composed of triangles would you believe?
Two things I noticed:-
1. Considering Skiddaw is one of only four tops
(Pun unavoidable unless I say "peaks" instead and Skiddaw ain't no PEAK) higher than 3,000 feet - it looks quite tiny at this distance.
2. Conversely Criffel, when you're on the same side of the Solway seems a lot less than it does when viewed from Allenby beach.
Yet again - spoilt for choice, had to call in the Jury to choose.

On reviewing I saw the bloody Spill Chucker had turned the second "Skddaw" into "Skidded".
