Krakow Crib day

1st Thursday in December is traditionally the day the ornate Krakow Christmas cribs are put on display under the monument to Adam Mickiewicz in Krakow's Grand Market square as part of the winter fair celebrations. I know all this because Ciaran was set an art project from school to design and make a Krakow Crib from bits and pieces he could find from around the house. It's made from various shoe boxes, oxo boxes, rice boxes, tops off coffee jars, squirty cream tin tops, bubble bath tops and cardboard tubes. Its all covered shiny paper and glitter. The art project brief was to make it as a family so we have all had a go glittering and sticking. It goes to school tomorrow to be judged, with the best ones going on display in the church linked to his school.
