4,500 Years Old

One of the ten Neolithic houses at Skara Brae, complete with dresser, bed spaces, queen stones, storage pits and a hearth of course. The site is beautifully preserved and was lying under the sand until 1850 when a storm uncovered the settlement.
We walked along the white sand beach before heading to Bursay along the coast, a headland only accessible by a causeway at low tide. The seascape was breathtaking and we wandered around the ruins of a Viking settlement and sat on the cliffs in awe at the beauty and watched Fulmars, Oystercatchers and Eider ducks. We were very lucky as we spotted a few Puffins on a ledge with some Razorbills, a perfect day.
