Dodging traffic

Back blip

Met Bb in Seagull for grilled prawns and chips after work tonight. I stupidly agreed to share a taxi with a colleague, which meant being dropped off on the other side of the road from the restaurant. This road is like a motorway with no zebras or traffic lights and crazy driving. You literally take your life in your hands as you step out first of all to stop one stream of cars, then do the same with the next, continuing across three 'lanes' of traffic. That's you then in the middle and you have to tackle the same again. It took me 10 mins to pluck up the courage for the first side and could only do it by shadowing an Egyptian. Then I got stuck in the middle, where it's impossible to look nonchalant or pretend you're waiting for someone! Stranded, eventually one of the car parking guys saw me and came across to escort me over. Never again! I'll get a taxi to pick me up and do a U turn!

My blip's taken from inside Seagull looking away from the Nile. You can see the lower terrace of another restaurant where roast chickens seem to be the speciality. Beyond the restaurant are flats, which, being on the Corniche will have Nile views as well as 24 hour traffic.
