Old and Beautiful

A number of blippers have commented in the last few days on the hawthorn flowers.  I had already been thinking of photographing the hawthorn tree at the end of my garden but their comments spurred me on.  This is the tree in the morning sunshine.  To me the hawthorn flowers seem more abudant this year.  The branches on this tree almost droop with the weight of the flowers.  Its such a beautiful sight.  I don't want May to end.  I think this must be a very old tree - it has multiple trunks and as you can see from the photograph it is quite tall and broad.
