The Exploding Hourglass

Today was strange

I fixed my other strobe today so now I have two working ones. They're both from the late '70s but at least I didn't have to pay for them. I am going to use both strobes for lighting the studio I am building in my basement to fight boredom this winter break. I bought some wireless transceivers on the internet today so I can use the strobes easier.

I went to bed around 7am this morning, I was up late reading a book about street photography. The photos were very good but I disagreed with some of the rules it tried to apply. Rangefinders sure are nice but don't tell me I have to shoot with one.

Anyone heard of coroplast or have any idea where I can find some? I need some to make a gridspot, I looked at craft, art and hardware stores but I couldn't find any.

Shooting yourself and trying to trigger two strobes manually is really hard but not impossible. I did it in a totally dark room with a one or two second shutter speed. Then I used quick bursts of light to paint what I wanted in the frame.

I need to get a soft box built and maybe work on a better background.
