Today's the day ....................... for the Coffin Road

Our family is split into those who are devotees of the Scottish author Peter May  and have read all his books set in the Outer Hebrides - and those who have never read his books and pretend that they are not interested.

It inevitably means that the latter cannot join in the conversations about exactly where the actions of his main characters took place - always a fascinating subject.  His latest book 'Coffin Road'  is set on Harris and refers to an actual route which in the past was taken by funeral parties carrying coffins from the villages of the Bays (where the ground was too rocky to dig graves) to the old burial grounds at Seilebost and Losgaintir.
