ASTONISHING AS IT MAY SEEM
this day again was a bright, warm summerday. And still is.
So we started earlier than yesterday and cycled first to Wahmbeck and from there to Bodenfelde. The path follows the Weser upstream to the south, in the beginning some climbing and descending. It is by far my most favourite! It is so quiet and rustic, first along the forest and then through the fields. There in a meadow we found three horses each with a foal. They were eating the long grass and one motherhorse lay with her baby in the shadow of the trees.
In Bodenfelde we went to the open air swimmingpool. At twelve o'clock one easily could count the visitors. A beautiful large 50 m bath and some smaller ones for fun and babies. And enormous meadows to relax upon.
Our way back was partly another track, the last part the same as we had come.
A marvellous trip but I have to add that we are glad to be home now and have a rest.
My haiku:
The path up and down
Down and up golden sunshine
Be cherished old bones
And the proverb from Thoreau:
I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion.
