Rural abandon

A few hundred metres from where we are staying there is a little lane leading to some houses. Most are occupied with well trimmed gardens but this one stood out. It clearly has not been occupied for some time but the wisteria is obviously thriving.

Extra is of an unusual tree/ bush. A type of philadelphus ?
