Pleasantly surprised!
By both the GTech eBike and the weather!
This morning we set off to GTech HQ at Worcester where we had booked a test ride of their bikes. We stopped at Dursley as there is a cafe there where Mr T enjoys the breakfast, and also into Clifton Cameras to get his passport photos taken. From there we set off to Worcester. The HQ is located on a farm and quite unusual. We had expected heavy rain but it was essentially dry.
The test was very interesting. I had thought I'd like the sporty frame as it's the closest to my current bike, but I expected the 20" frame to be too big, which it wasn't. Mr T thought the city bike would be more to his liking. GTech are marketing them as City and Sport bikes to make them unisex. In the end the City bike felt like my Pendleton Sommersby and is more suited to our style of riding (enjoying the scenery rather than racing).
I enjoy riding, and thought the eBike would eliminate the challenge but you can set it to eco mode where it will boost to 7.5 mph or full to 15 mph, or off! We're hoping that it will enable Mr T to keep up and me to still feel challenged! They have an offer at the moment of a "free" accessory kit, and we can have a 14 day no quibble test.
So some thinking to be done!
We then came back the "scenic route" via Ross-on-Wye and went to Raglan Garden Centre (and were very disappointed as it was now a Wyevale and our cakes were rubbish). As can be almost seen in the collage, Sugarloaf was barely visible and then gone behind the clouds. Like most of the scenery. :-(
The little camper van was on display and looked quite cute.
And enough rambling!
