Stourbridge Common

This is a lush and pleasant water meadow, full of wildlife and frequented by walkers, cyclists, joggers, dog walkers and part of the year cattle are allowed to graze here. King John granted a Charter in 1211, allowing an annual fair, one of the largest in Europe, to be held on this common, now moved to Midsummer Common. The fair was the inspiration for John Bunyan's 'Vanity Fair'
