Alhambra Garden Leeds

This is part of what I call the hidden gardens of Roundhay Park.

Hundreds of people visit the park every week, but very few know that this and other gardens exist.

This is based on the famous 13th century garden at the Alhambra Palace,in Spain.
We have been there and this is as nice if not better!
There is also a copy of Monet's Garden at Giverny,France, really looking at it's best just now.
You will also find Leed's Councils Chelsea exhibits for 2008,2009,and 2010 sponsored by HESCO Bastion Ltd. All beautiful.
The 2011 garden is now nearly complete and will be open in the next couple of weeks.
The theme for this is the power of nature and water.
It has as it's centrepiece a traditional Yorkshire Mill, complete with working water wheel. This won a gold medal at Chelsea.

It's a lovely summers day here, although now clouded over.

After the walk round the park it was off to Salvos for lunch. Nice end to the morning/afternoon.

The heating system had righted itself by the time the gas people came at 9am.
A bit of dirt blocking a valve! We could have a new part fitted which would help prevent this happening again, but at £300 have decided to leave it for now, so long as it works!

Garden pots looking a bit dry, so a job for me tonight, watering! Makes a nice change!

Hope you are all having nice weather too!
