Golf Saga

Well I did warn my blip buddies yesterday that my game today could be quite an adventure and I was right on the money.  I have to confess to being quite nervous before the big hit off at 10.03.  I was greeted by the Club Captain with the news that she had been in touch with Golf NSW and I would have to play off my old handicap of 13 from nine years ago.  After I had played three or four rounds they would review my handicap and give me a more relevant one.  The other handicap I gave MYSELF was leaving my putter in the ladies toilet half way through the round.  It was only when I had reached the putting green at the end of the 10th hole that I realised what I'd done.  Oh well, just another one of life's little challenges.  Because it's against the rules to borrow a club from your opponent I had to putt the whole way around the next nine holes with a 5 iron!!

I managed to sneak my iphone6 out of my golf bag and take this image.  Now there's quite a story to this shot.  I'm standing by my ball and you can just see the 100 metres mark to my left (that's the yellow round disc).  That big tree on the right hand side of shot behind the ducks is standing between me and the green and just behind the tree is a creek.  Oh, golf's a lot of fun!  Never one to die wondering I decided to take the tree and the creek on and just to prove that there is a Golf God, my eight iron sailed over the tree and landed just short of the green.  Woohoo - after that shot, I'll definitely be back next week, it only takes one!  I'm sure my blip buddie ninniex will agree with me on that score.

Please note, no ducks were injured during my round today
