Smallest ever image of Olympic torch!

Today was the first day of our 'holiday'. We were booked on the 6pm ferry to the Isle of Wight. We were told to arrive early as the olympic torch was due at 5.30 from the IOW...

we got there at 4.55. And told that we were not allowed to stop, as it was not possible to book people on until 5. I suggested I'd sit there for 5 minutes till 5. I was told I would be escorted away by the large police presence. I suggested I park at the back of the terminal behind the other cars still there. They were booked on the 5pm ferry, I was not allowed in the compound until 5pm as I was on the 6pm ferry.

Truly, truly British bureaucracy at its very finest. A bunch of utter retards fighting for superiority in the war against common sense. I was approached by another officer... 'can you not be put on the 5pm ferry'?

That, it appears, was fine. Of course it completely scuppered my plans to take a photo of the olympic torch coming off the ferry from the best view point - i.e. the ferry port where I would have been queuing for the 6pm ferry IF the traffic had allowed me to arrive 5 minutes later...

So, I took this. It's the olympic torch being held at the front of the ferry. In yet another display of British stupidity, they timed the departure of 3 of the largest liners in the world to leave at the same time it was arriving, ensuring it was hidden on it's voyage by these floating block of flats.

Marvellous!

Grrrr
