Ms. Pancake
After returning from lunch with my parents I wandered through our local market.
There I met Ms. Pfannkuchen, a shoe merchant. I wondered a bit about her unusual name (which means pancake) but she explained to me that it is quite common in the city of Hannover and surroundings .
She comes from the city of Zerbst in Saxony-Anhalt and sells shoes on markets like this 6 days a week. When she heard that I was going to Canada she immediately offered me her extra warm clogs. She told me that these clogs would also been exported to Canada. I tankfully rejected and told her that my mother will make me warm slippers.
It was a very warm, enjoyable talk.
