The eye of Providence
The Olympic Games 2012 start this wait and I love catching glimpses of a city I visited with my family on several occassions. This particular shot from the London Eye was exceptionally memorable. Each trip to London was accompanied by a family member and always had new activies to enjoy.
The eye in Buddhist documents refers to the "Eye of the world." This week London's eye certainly will be.
Last year at this time, Patrick enjoyed a visit from two of his best friends from Michigan. We stayed just across the Thames from Big Ben, visited Buckingham Palace & watched the changing of the guards, Winston Churchill's war rooms, the Hard Rock cafe, and the HMS Belfast (surviving German attack on D-day, arctic condtions, and time patrolling unethical behavior in Asia).
HMS Belfast
I am thankful to have viewed this city with PJ and some of his friends I've watched grow since elementary school.
As we drove out of the city we were stuck in gridlock traffic due to the death of Amy Whinehouse. We were delayed in meeting Max's parens by two hours. I can only imagine what congestion there will be over the next few weeks, but what a fabulous city.
To my wonderful British ladies, your country is shining and we can't wait to watch the events.
