Gloucester

We got an early start to our getaway stopping at Birdlip to eat our picnic sat in the car in true middle aged fashion because the wind was cold enjoying views towards the Malvern Hills (where I was born) and the Black Mountains. Refreshed, we drove the last few miles to Gloucester to explore the Quays, the Cathedral and Eastgate Tower. Cup of a tea with a cake for £1? Yes please. Well, it is our anniversary. The old dears running the place asked me if I wanted to ring the bell. It took me three goes before I could. Damn arthritis!

We perused two markets and headed for a brief look round the museum before aching legs and time running out on the car park ticket dictated it was time to head to the hotel. There are so many places I'd like to see tomorrow I could do with a few extra days here. Somehow I think there would be a riot at home...

Today's blip is part of a clock above a jewellers. Tough choice today between the Cathedral, a tall ship in the Quay and a panorama at Birdlip.
