Polyrinia revisited
This photo symbolises much of inland Crete to me - pithoi, tumbledown buildings of ancient, reused stone, rough-cobbled paths and telegraph wires. Today's walk ended at ancient Polyrinia, where there was time for a wander up to the wood-turner's shop to buy wooden bowls and drink a toast in his honey raki. I've been here on at least two previous occasions, and it never fails to charm.
