Say things like:

"Beware of that ditch, you'll be up to your ankles in mud otherwise."
"You'll end up in the muddy ditch again if you do that!"
"Be careful, you don't want to walk into that muddy ditch for third time."
"Just take your shoes and socks off, they're too wet and muddy, and I'm sure you won't end up walking in that muddy ditch again."
