Through a Glass, Darkly
We seem to have jumped ahead to late September, with heavy rain and low temperatures, skipping the rest of summer.
On our way to the YMCA mid-morning, we noted on a bank display that the temperature was 52F / 11C, unseasonably cool for this time of year. Many other parts of the United States are suffering from very high temperatures, drought, and thunderstorms, so we are trying not to grumble.
With time before my exercise class, I was irresistibly drawn to the empty wood-floored studio near my class, which I blipped earlier this month, and the wider view from the opposite wall of mirrors.
Those wavy views seem magical to me, almost as if they existed in an altered reality -- or a heat haze. That's certainly not the case today -- but just take a look...
And as for that narrow brick pillar -- that isn't really there -- more magic!
