Bench Acrobatics

On our morning walk I was slightly startled by a weird wiggling feeling that went across my foot as I was walking over some grass (my shoes have open areas to them over the top of my foot). I look down to see an adorable baby garter snake slithering through the grass :D I try and get Corra to check it out, but she seems like she is blind to this wiggling creature and keeps sniffing around and accidentally stomping on the poor thing with her clumsiness >:[ Loki gets curious as to what is going on and starts sniffing around (not very close to the snake at all mind you). He clearly could smell snake as he suddenly did a little leap backwards. I chuckled and pointed out where the tiny snake was and I kid you not, he leaped so high into the air that he reached the end of his leash! Once he landed, he backed up as far as his leash would allow him and stared at the area the snake had been in with huge eyes. Poor dog ... He refused to walk in that area at all. Corra on the other hand half watched it wiggle away, but didn't seem concerned or have any desire to chase it (which is weird for her ... she likes wiggling things, I suppose she had enough sense to ignore it though!) Man I wish I had brought my camera on that walk :D
