Whitewater Reservoir

My son is also a photographer and he is currently engaged in a long term project on hydro electric schemes, with particular interest of the blending of large-scale man-made structures in the environment. East Lothian being a lowland area does not have any hydroelectric power but I thought a similar project might be a reservoir. The only major reservoir in the area is Whitewater Reservoir in the Lammermuir Hills so we headed off that way today. 

In many ways it is more like a natural lake and the main man-made elements are at the dam end of the reservoir though there are other aspects like a bridge where the road bisects part of the reservoir. It was an overcast day with some interest in the sky. I have decided to play up this element and produce a dramatic image
