Nesting grebe

The highlight of my late morning walk to the lake at Samoreau was catching sight of this great crested grebe sitting on its nest. This was as close as I could get, and my compact camera was at full zoom, but I was quite pleased with how it came out. I shall have to keep checking back to see when the babies hatch.
