Pansy Surprise
While looking for progress with the little Swiss Chard plants in the barrel I discovered flowers I had not planted. This includes the yellow pansies now hiding behind the barrel. Seeds or tiny plants could have started last fall and lived through the winter.
The chard is slowly growing despite frequent frosts. Today we did not have frost. I see that the slugs have been nibbling on the little pansies.
