Whitby harbour

Our holiday continues but had a bit of a 'blip' today as we had to first of all get the car to the garage as it was playing up a bit. So we ended up staying in York a bit longer than intended and didn't leave till nearly teatime. We had a lovely day though, shopping, mooching around, looking at the art gallery etc.

We reached our intended destination eventually, and are now at Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. I've never been here before, but have never met anyone who's ever been to Whitby who's not raved about it and said how lovely it is. First impressions are certainly favourable - this is the harbour around 9pm, so just as the sun is starting to set. I have to say though, blimey, what is it with all the hills and steps?!
