Last one home

I had a really enjoyable evening marshalling at the 4km/7km point for the St Albans race in the Herts Midweek Road Race League series. There were some seriously impressive runners out there of all speeds, none more so than the elderly lady who made brought up the rear in about an hour and a half despite a painful knee injury. As she passed me at the 7km mark I joined her and the tail runner in jogging the final 3km, gradually picking up the remaining marshals on the way. Here we all are in the growing gloom with about 500m to go!
