Tunnel
To stretch my legs after last night, I went for a wander in the Estate before working from home. For a change, I made my way to the entrance to the 40m Hurley Tunnel dug through an embankment from the River Esk to a small curved valley in 1741 to create a series of artificial ponds. Currently there is only one pond and a lot of boggy ground but the area is up for restoration (2021-2035).
Looks like "summer" is over.
