On Hartland Moor, Isle of Purbeck

Photo taken (almost directly into the sun) from about 2 miles north of Corfe Castle.

The tree to the left looks as it is suffering from witches' brooms, dense masses of shoots resulting from phytoplasmas (specialised bacteria);  the condition is not fatal, and the growths can provide a home for moths and even small animals.
