Day 5

This is the woman who let us row her basket boat down a river in Hoi An - an experience that I will definitely remember;)! She's 60 and has been living in a countryside village on the outskirts of Hoi An all her life.

I like how her dirty hands and fingernails add to the photo; it reflects the way that in Vietnam, unlike the West, the women are made to do all the heavy work such as brickmaking and farming in the fields while the men generally have a more relaxed lifestyle.
