Know your onions.

As I think most people will know this is Ramsons. Also known as Wild Garlic. It has other names such as Stink Bomb.

Its scientific name is Allium ursinum. Ursinum refers to Bears as in former times it was the first plant they ate when they awoke from hibernation.

It has a strong smell and indeed this can be difficult to remove from clothes if you have walked through it. The leaves are said to be mild and are used in salads and sandwiches. I would not know as I am very unadventurous as far as food is concerned.

Alliums are a very successful genus mostly found in temperate climates in the northern hemisphere. They include onions, garlic, shallots, leeks, chives and hundreds of others many grown for their ball shaped flowers.
