Moorhen chick

A much better day than yesterday, but it could hardly be much worse. Reported the accident to the insurers first off and got all that stuff on its way. Then the heating engineer came and we were pleased to find that only minor repairs were needed to get us up and running.

In the afternoon we called in at the local garden centre to buy some barley straw extract to help prevent blanket weed in the pond and on the way back walked through the Vinters Park reserve, the first time for many a year.

The geese had their goslings and the moorhens their chick and a swan was sitting on a huge nest dozing peacefully away. A very pleasant scene
