The Grand Canal

One final stroll before heading to the airport.

There was a 'marathon' taking place today - not runners, but rowers who had to do a circuit of around 40kms!  It caused chaos on the waterways and none of the water taxis could go anywhere, but luckily the company we'd booked with had been very proactive and there was a taxi waiting to take us to the airport.  It was a little disappointing as I was looking forward to the return boat ride, but at least they got us there in plenty of time.

We had a good flight and are now home, unpacked and ready for bed!
