Close Encounters of the Stockbridge Kind

My Dear Fellow,

Not a particularly pretty picture. I take a lot of randoms. But at least you get to see what the neighbourhood looks like after dark. Not sure why the street light flared so bright.

Last night Lisa came round and there was a bit of an upturned nose at the choice of film - Deadpool. Fortunately Mr. Pool won her over and she's now determined to look at Ryan Reynold's entire back catalogue on Netflix. It was accompanied by burgers and milkshakes which is a pretty good compliment to a film about violence, revenge and thoughts of self-abuse to 1980's sitcom stars.

Sunday has been pretty quiet. I had a rotten night's sleep which is unlike me so today I've been feeling a bit floaty. A nap was required and now I'm feeling as normal as I get again.

When I was a kid, Sunday night was always a bit spoilt by knowing it would be followed by Monday morning. Although I loved nagging my parents into letting me stay up late and watching "That's Life!" with Esther Rantzen and Cyril Fletcher, the end music to that show still makes my spirits sink.

Not that work tomorrow will be that bad. I'm expecting a quiet day since it is a public holiday. But still. Work.

Oh well, that's life, I suppose.
