Clifton Suspension Bridge. The BUM club.

Back in Bristol for my 40 year reunion, we cycled along the river Avon to Portishead and Avonmouth today.

This is another of Brunel's wonders...the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, completed after in 1864, to his design, after his death.

When I was young and foolish ( I am now old and foolish) I used to climb the cliffs under the Clifton (right hand) tower, with the Bristol University Mountaineering Club, fondly referred to as the BUM club.
